It’s a great privilege being Team Nigeria’s captain for the 3rd consecutive time- Oritsemeyiwa Ineh
The 2018 Youth Olympic Games got underway yesterday, Oct 6th in Buenos Aires, Argentina with the opening ceremony while competition commenced today. Two Nigerians; Azeez Solanke and Esther Oribamise competed in the boy’s and girls Table Tennis respectively.
Speaking to the Team Captain ahead of the Games, he said he was privileged being the captain of Team Nigeria for the 3rd time this season and he is positive that the Nigerian athletes will make the nation proud.
“It’s a great privilege being the captain of Team Nigeria to Buenos Aires, Argentina for the third Youth Olympics Games.
“This is about my third consecutive time I’m captaining Team Nigeria. I was the captain to ECOWAS Region ll Games, African Youth Games and now Youth Olympics Games.
“Much responsibility has been placed on my shoulders but I’m optimistic as the team captain and am hoping to do my country proud. We’re the best from this end and we’re going to meet the best from other contingents, which means, it’s the best of the bests. So it’s tasking but I’m sure and positive that Team Nigeria is ready! We’re more than ready for this herculean task ahead of us and we’re ready to do our country Nigeria proud”
