Dr. Glora Obajimi leads Team Nigeria to African Masters Athletics Championship

Dr. Gloria Obajimi the President of Nigeria Athletics Masters led 5 other athletes to the 12th African Masters Athletics Championship in Rades Tunisia which began on the 6th – 9th of February 2019.

She will competes in the 200 meters and 800 meters for women.
Others are:

Dr.Safiya Yahaya-Kongoila the Assistant Secretary General of the body. She will compete in the 100/200m and 400m which she won Gold in these events in the last edition in Abidjan Cote D’Ivoire with the 4 x 100 meters relay.

Reuben Overere Omavuah who will competes in the 100 and 200 meters and won Gold in both events at the last edition in Abidjan Cote D’Ivoire

Dele Ige will competes in the long and triple jump and won Gold in the triple jump at the 2016 edition at Limbe Cameroun.

Olajide Femi Peters will be competes in the 100 and 200 meters and this will be his first time competing for Nigeria and he has promised to do the country proud in his events ,promising to win his first medal for the country.

Speaking with theathleticheat.com, President stadia of African Athletics Masters said “We would have had more athletes representing the country but due to lack of fund and not getting the necessary approval for some athletes is affecting us going with a large team like the last edition where we went with 16 athletes and won the overall.”

The next edition is in Kenya in 2021. We wish our veterans all the best.
