Athletic Heat set to host 2nd Track and Field Awards.


We are pleased to announce that the much anticipated 2018 Athletic Heat Track and Field Awards is set to hold on Friday, November 30th at Ultima Studios, Lekki Phase One, Lagos.

The last edition was a huge success as 24 athletes and 3 coaches were recognized for their exceptional performances in 2017. This was preceded by a review of all the 2017 AFN events and across 9 categories selected the top performers for public votes.

Some of the winners were; Enoch Adegoke, Joy Udo-Gabriel, Isaac Odugbesan, Egwero Ogho-Oghene, Ajayi Yinka, Coach Hakeem Oyewole etc.

The Special Recognition Awards recognized and rewarded world record-holding
and record-breaking Para Athletes; Paul Kehinde( 65Kg Para-Weightlifter World record Holder), Flora
Ugwunwa (F57 Women Javelin World Record Holder) & Lauritta Onye (F40 Womens world record holder
in Shot Put) and Patrick Anaeto (Para-coach) of the year too.

Sports philanthropists and current and ex-internationals were also recognized for their efforts in promoting the sport and they include; Chief Mary Onyali, Mr Mike Enahoro (CEO Kids And Play Initiative), Chief Chioma Shines, Blessing Okagbare, Chief Solomon Ogba amongst other great personalities.

Voting for this year’s Award will commence on Sunday, Nov 4th- 24th. Keep tabs with our space as we announce nominees for the various categories.
