Nigerian athletes finally gets visas as Ese Brume arrives London Today!
The British High Commission finally issued visas to Nigerian athletes and the General Secretary of the Athletics Federation Of Nigeria[AFN] after the complaints and laments of the AFN officials over the delay of the visas for the 2017 London world Athletic Championships which begins today.
Some of the athletes includes; sprint hurdler and world junior finalist Oluwatobiloba Amusan with a season best of 12.57sec in the 100mh and 22.92sec in the 200m, African and Commonwealth long jump champion Ese Brume with a personal best of 6.81m at the Olympic games last year, 3 times 400m National Champion Patience Okon George with a personal best of 50.71sec and the Secretary General of AFN, Amaechi Akawo got their visas on Wednesday 2nd of August 2017.
Most of the athletes who got their visas on Tuesday the 2nd of August 2017 travelled that same day since their flight tickets were ready for them to take off immediately but others who could not get yesterday will depart today. National Long jump Champion Ese brume also got her visa on Wednesday 2nd of August but the champ decided to leave for London today with the second set of Nigeria athletes who are equally departing today.
Nigeria’s track and Field queen, Blessing Okagbare will hit the track tomorrow in the 100meters women heat while Ese Brume will be in action on Wednesday the 9th of August 2017.
