AFN/MoC Youth/Junior trails registration closes today at midnight

Abuja – With the very short notice given to athletes about the 2017 U18/U20 trails, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria in partnership with Making of Champions have decided to hold the trails at the National Stadium, Abuja.

MoC has brought in their digital skills and have requested that all athletes who wish to compete should register online which is necessary for participating. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NationalJuniorYouthTrials
In a statement published on MakingOfChamps.com it says

MoC decided to provide sponsorship to partner with the AFN to host the competition this weekend because they are the only available dates left for Nigerian athletes to attain qualification for the African Junior (U20) Championship’s later this month.”

The trails would also serve as qualification for the World Youth (U18) Championship in Kenya which will take place between July 12th – 16th while the Commonwealth Youth Games will commence almost immediately in Bahamas from July 19th -23rd 2017.

Events for the competition include;

100m, 200. , 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m (Women), 5000m (men, 100mh, 110mh, 400mh, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump amongst other events.

Note: Screening will be on Thurs 15th June at the stadium.
. Competition will hold on Fri 16th – Sat 17th June. If you wish to compete, you must come along with your international passport or birth certificate/Age declaration.
. To clear all doubts, Junior athletes are between 1998 -1999 while Youth athletes are from 2000. The screening process is going to be
stern and if you know you do not meet the requirements, its advisable you do not come so you won’t be disappointed.
You do not have a problem if you have a page on IAAF website or if you have competed at any of the Top sprinter competition hosted by Making of Champions. (They
certainly have your records). Accommodation will be provided by the AFN!
