AFN announces next Golden League venue as more athletes hope on Junior Qualification.

The third leg of the League was slated for Ilorin yesterday has now been moved to Shagamu, Ogun State on Tuesday. The reason for this is that, The Warri Peace Marathon was also slated for the same day (Saturday) in Delta State and one had to step down for the other
400m National Junior fastest, Bamidele Emmaunel who ran a stunning 47.75 seconds at D. K Olukoya Championships which is 0.05s shy the World Junior standards said ‘I am hoping for the best. I am looking forward to run a 46high or possibly a 46 low by Gods grace.’

Knowledge Omovoh who ran a Season Best of 55.53 at the D. K Olukoya is hoping to run better in Sagamu. She said ‘The time I ran at U20 is Okay but I see myself running faster at the next Golden League. I feel I could run a better time’.
And our very own writer, Ruth Usoro who won the Long Jump event at U20 trails here in Lagos is also looking forward to go over 6.30m at Sagamu. ‘I believe i can do it. In Abuja I fouled a 6.3m and in Lagos my Front leg gave me 6.7m but my back leg was 6.11m. I am working on landing with both legs this time and I know I would do better. My hope is solely on God’ Ruth said..

It is worthy to note that about FIVE Junior athletes have ran the 100m qualifying time. They are; Raymond Ekevwo (10.35s), Godwin Ashien(10.49s), Adegoke Enoch (10.50s), Chukwudi Olisakwe (10.54s) and Kenneth Iloakagbune (10.55s)
